Community Engagement
SanDisk provides financial support and product donations to
organizations that address specific needs in communities worldwide
where our company has a significant presence. Our
community-engagement program focuses on three main areas:
- K-12 Education
- Promoting Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM),
and
- Children's and Youth Issues (Health and Welfare)
New in 2012 is the SanDisk Scholars Fund, a
scholarship program that supports the educational goals of selected
students who wish to pursue careers in STEM. SanDisk also provides
financial support through our competitive grants and Signature
Partner Programs, as well as product donations to charitable
organizations in our communities.
Making an impact in our communities includes investing our time
and abilities in addition to making financial contributions. One of
SanDisk's goals is to foster a spirit of giving by supporting the
gift of their time through volunteerism as well as by matching our
employees' monetary donations. We promote specific volunteer
opportunities in our communities, both on campus and offsite, and
encourage our people to willingly give of their time and skills to
local nonprofit organizations. We believe our volunteer efforts
say, with the strongest voice possible, that our company and its
employees are committed to making a difference in the lives of
others.
SanDisk Foundation
SanDisk has a long-standing partnership with the Silicon Valley
Community Foundation (SVCF) to provide funding to community
organizations. SVCF specializes in philanthropic and giving
programs and enables us to direct funding support to charitable
organizations worldwide. This partnership helps us share our
financial success with local communities around the world where
SanDisk employees live and work.
