Optimus Eco™ SAS solid state drives (SSDs) provide the capacity, speed, and reliability to ensure a cost-effective high-performance storage solution for mixed-use and read-intensive application workloads. They support end-user access to data-streams and to large data sets that have been written to disk with each Optimus Eco SSD providing 400GB to 1.6TB of capacity for mixed-use workloads such as on-line transaction processing (OLTP) databases, financial transactions, email/messaging, and virtual desk. The Optimus Eco at the 2TB capacity is ideal for read-intensive application workloads, such as indexing, media-streaming, and video on demand (VOD).
Video on demand allows users to access video from virtually any device, including PCs, smartphones, and entertainment consoles that are connected to the Internet. Optimus Eco SSDs reduce the time it takes to stream video data, enhancing the end-user experience.

What products comprise the Optimus SAS SSD product family? The Optimus product family of SAS SSDs is comprised of four Multi-Level Cell (MLC) products: Optimus Eco™ SAS SSDs, Optimus Ascend™ SAS SSDs, Optimus Ultra™ SAS SSDs, and Optimus Extreme™ SAS SSDs. Each product is designed with a combination of high-performance, capacity, endurance, and reliability. The Optimus Eco SAS SSD is designed for mixed-use and read-intensive application workloads. The Optimus Ascend SAS SSD is designed for mixed-use application workloads with higher endurance than the Optimus Eco. The Optimus Ultra SAS SSD and Optimus Extreme SAS SSDs are designed for write intensive application workloads also at different endurance levels with the latter being the highest.
