No Agent in Guest VM
Remove the configuration challenge, additional overhead, and security concerns associated with agents running in each VM.
Low Resource Utilization
FlashSoft scales to support very large numbers of VMs without increasing CPU or memory requirements which stay at 3-5 % of overall CPU and 140MB of RAM no matter how many volumes or VMs are accelerated.
Dynamic Cache Allocation
FlashSoft automatically ensures optimal cache usage per VM, assigning cache space dynamically as new VMs are added. No need to adjust existing VMs.
Cache Persistence
Cache content is preserved in event of VM restart or host reboot, cache metadata is restored in milliseconds. VMs are accelerated immediately, without waiting for another "warm-up" period.
Cloning Support Enhances VDI
Separate acceleration for base and clones, so golden image content is not duplicated across caches, conserving SSD space and I/O throughput.
VMware vCenter™ Plug-in
A standard plug-in to vCenter supports management of FlashSoft functions directly through vCenter GUI. No need to dedicate another server or VM to manage the cache software.
Full Support for VMware features
VMware features such as HA, vMotion™ and Storage vMotion are seamlessly supported by FlashSoft.

System Requirements
Operating System
- VMware vSphere 5 (ESXi 5)
SSD Hardware
FlashSoft software runs on any standard SAS, SATA, or PCIe Solid-state Device (SSD)
- Minimum cache size: 8GB
- Maximum SSD size: 2TB
The optimal cache size depends on the amount of data on the disks being accelerated, the applications running on the server, and the peak utilization. Please consult a SanDisk FlashSoft representative to discuss the optimal SSD for your needs.
Server Memory & CPU
- Memory utilization: 140MB
- Recommended CPU: Dual core or greater, 64-bit processor over 2GHz speed
- CPU utilization: 3% - 5%
FlashSoft for VMware vSphere will run on any system that will effectively run vSphere 5.0. vSphere compatibility list is available at the VMware website:
